Frequently Asked Questions

What is Crazed Imaginations?
We're San Diego's Rocky Horror cast!

What's Rocky Horror?
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is our favorite awesome/terrible movie. It's a musical from 1975 that spoofs science fiction movies of the 1950s. If you've only seen it on video, though, you're missing out. The audience participation is what makes it great.

If Rocky Horror is a movie, what is a Rocky cast?
We mimic the movie on stage while the movie itself plays behind us. We have props, costumes, and set pieces. We train and rehearse to learn the parts and put on the best show possible. We feel that having a live cast helps the audience participate and enjoy the show.

Do you get paid for this?
No, we do it because we love the show. We do take donations at the door to help pay for props, costumes, and other show-related expenses, such as our annual participation in the San Diego Pride Parade.

How does the audience participate in the show?
The main thing the audience does is callbacks. Over the years, people have come up with a lot of funny things to yell at the screen, and many of them have caught on.

Another thing the audience does is throw stuff. We do have to clean the theater afterwards, so we put some restrictions on what you can throw (e.g. no rice, please, as it's really annoying to clean up, especially if it gets wet). We have prop kits for sale with a sampling of the most commonly thrown items.

We also ask the audience to get up and dance the Time Warp with us. If you've never seen it, don't worry. The Time Warp a very easy dance and the movie shows you how to do it.
